The Rector, Dr. Dayo Oladebeye has expressed the willingness of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti to partner with the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) with a view to promoting academic excellence through the mounting of top up Degree Programmes in some courses.
The Rector made this assertion while receiving the facilities inspection team from FUT Minna who came to the institution for Resource Assessment to the departments being considered for the top up Degree Programmes.
The Rector who spoke through the Deputy Rector, Academic, Dr. Josephine Omoniyi commended FUT Minna for sending a high-powered delegation to the institution for the resource assessment exercise and promised to work with the team to achieve the desired result that will be to the benefit of both parties.
The leader of the team, Prof. Segun Oyero, who is the director of Linkages and Collaboration of FUT Minna expressed his satisfaction on facilities at the Polytechnic was ready to add value to what is on ground. The Institution environment he observed was very serene, clement, very conducive for learning and have adequate classrooms as well as well equipped laboratories.
Speaking also, the Director for Academic Planning FUTMINNA, Professor Amoda Yusuf Yahaya said that part of the purpose of the visit to the Polytechnic was to help ensure that the targeted area of interest in quality is met. According to him, this will help bring the school’s attention to requirements found wanting and prepare the department for the planned accreditation by the National University Commission.
The Director of the Directorate of University Degree Affiliations Programme (DUDAP), Dr. Frederick Isife thanked the team for their visit and said he is looking forward to more progress in the nearest future.
