FULAFIA News: Contractor hands over new lecture halls to Federal University of Lafia VC

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Muhammad Sanusi Liman, has lauded the effort of the Federal Government for providing quality facilities in the University to aid the process of teaching and learning.

The vice-chancellor made this known during the handing over ceremony of a new building housing lecture halls at the Permanent Site Campus of FULafia, in Lafia, capital of Nasarawa State.

He thanked the Federal Government for the project, noting that the university was privileged to be among the few that benefited from the government’s gesture.

The one storey building which is one of the Federal Government’s “Needs Assessment” interventions at FULafia, has four lecture rooms, each with a seating capacity for about 220 students.

Liman commended the contractors for doing a good job, adding: "I'm very happy to be handed this beautiful lecture complex."

He urged lecturers and students to put the facility into good use when the University is reopened.

Liman enjoined particularly students and other staff of the University to imbibe maintenance culture, saying: "If we don't maintain our structures, sooner or later, we'll be left with dilapidated buildings."

The contractors, while handing over the project to the Registrar, Dr. Abubakar Mamuda, who represented the vice-chancellor at the event, praised the University management for the support he enjoyed during the period of construction of the lecture halls.

He said that the complex was well built and "it would stand the test of time."

The event was witnessed by the Director of Physical Planning, Arch. Joseph Akogwu and other staff of the University.
