Kwara State University VC Dedicates 1st Award To Institution

Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University (KWASU), Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN, has dedicated his first award to the institution.

He stated this while receiving a plaque presented by the Director of Centre for Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training , KWASU, Dr Sunday Ojo, at the Council Chamber of the University, on Wednesday.

The award was an acknowledgement of his support and contributions towards success of the first ever virtual and 9th International Conference on Entrepreneurship Management and Innovation (Entrepreneurship Directors’ Conference, 2020), organised by the Centre.

The two- day conference, with the theme “COVID-19 as a Complex Adaptive Challenge: A Wake-up Call for Enterprising Leaders”, held via Zoom platform was well attended by participants across the world.

The Vice Chancellor, who was the Chief Host of the programme, said he dedicated the award to the University community for the support received so far, which has culminated in the modest achievements recorded since his assumption of office.

Prof. Akanbi  lauded the vibrancy, resilence, commitment and dedication to work of the workforce he inherited, which according to him, has strengthened his administration.

He, however, tasked other staff members to take a cue from the initiative by Dr. Ojo, which has further projected KWASU  to the  world, urging them to be proactive against all odds.

The Vice Chancellor applauded the Centre for organising the conference inspite of current economic realities and charged the leadership not to rest on its oars.
