ABIA State University: VC Inducted As Fellow Institute Of Diplomacy And Financial Management

More laurels and recognitions have continued to come the way of the Vice-Chancellor Abia State University uturu (ABSU) Distinguished Professor Onyemachi M. Ogbulu for his financial re engineering and prudence in University administration.

This time it was from the prestigious Institute of Business Diplomacy and financial management (IBDFM).The Vice-Chancellor was nominated for special investiture as fellow of the Institute during the 45th MCPD investiture of the fellowship and induction ceremony in Abuja with the theme ” Cyber threat, detection and mitigation, a concern for financial stability”.

In an opening remark, the Registrar of the Institute Sukana Danjuma Tusha stated that the Vice-Chancellor is the only ‘fellow’ among other inductees nominated by the Chairman of Council purely for his track record in financial prudence and innovativeness in the management of resources of a University. 

The President/Chairman of Council Professor A. A. Aminu in his address explained that the induction imposes on professional members the challenge of having to stand tall in integrity, impeacable in character, professional in service, alert to global trends and upholding ethical standards. Delivering the keynote address on the theme, “Cyber threat, detection and mitigation: 

A concern for financial stability” a consultant and visiting lecturer Nile University Dr Aliyu Abubakar Harped on the need for more effective and proactive measures to fight cyber crimes in order to make business and Government activities flourish. 

The Vice-Chancellor who was represented by the Dean Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, Dr N. O Dibia responding to newsmen on the award expressed appreciation to the Institute for honouring the Vice-Chancellor adding that it will spur him to make greater contribution in ensuring more effective and prudent financial management especially in public institutions. 

Others who were inducted as fellows and other professional cadres includes senior academics from different Universities, captains of industries, top Government officials as well as senior security personnel.
